Interview with Jack Mackenroth of Project Runway fame
I had the chance to do an email interview with Jack Mackenroth of Project Runway fame recently. Here are his replies :
What is your favorite style? Comfy, office like?
Personally I wear tee shirts and jeans about 90% of the time because I’mrunning around the city and doing a million things. If I’m dressing to impress I love flat front dress pant and a fitted dress shirt. A slim lapel fitted suit rocks as well but I have a hard time finding one that fits my shoulders and doesn’t make me look like Linda Evans circa 1983.
2. What are Five essentials must haves for any man’s wardrobe
I think every man needs at least one great fitting suit, a pair of well made black loafers, a really nice metal watch, a fitted white dress shirt, the perfect fitting dark denim jean and a kick ass pair of sneakers. I know that’s six. Sue me.
3. Whats your favorite men’s fragrance?
Old Spice. Just playin. I wear Terre D’Hermes by Hermes.
4. Where do you plan to sell your men’s shirts?
Well that’s a tricky question. First, I have to figure out the production end of everything so my first priority is finding an investor or even better someone who would just like to give me 500 thousand dollars because of my charming personality. I would love to go into a partnership with a design company that already has all the resources in place and do a collaborative collection like “Jack Mackenroth for Perry Ellis” or something like that.
We’ll have to wait and see what transpires.
5. What are your plans for 2008?
Well I’m doing a ton of charity events in February and March: Black Tie Bingo in Seattle, Diva MN in Minneapolis, Emerge in Sacremento, each of which benefit amazing charities. Then I’m shooting a video for the band Telling on Trixie, which should be a hoot. I’m in talks with a few HIV drug companies to work together as well. Lots of great things are happening. Then at some point I need to sit down and decide if I want to give the show
another try. The auditions for season 5 are rapidly approaching so we shall see…….
