How To Tame the Wild Pocket Square
Don’t be afraid - according to John Carroll of Beverly Hills, Carroll & Co. there is no “wrong way to wear” the pocket square.
Here are a few guidelines I grabbed from the LA Times Article “Do not feat the pocket square” by Monica Corcoran.
- Match your pocket square to your tie. Silk tie means silk pocket square.
- Only wear a white linen pocket square with a suit or tuxedo. They are a little too formal for a sports jacket.
- The latest is trend is to have the pocket square hanging almost half out. Show it off!
- Make sure it is big enough so that it doesn’t fall into the pocket - which results in making it invisible along with a weird bulge.
- Always remember that the pocket square isn’t a necessity, but it is a great way to stand out.
